B Free Milk

100% A2 herd, DNA tested since 2012. Fresh pasteurised milk and milkshakes from our farm shop and vending machine in Shropshire. Returnable glass bottles.

B free milk comes from Bridge Farm at Edstaston, near Wem in North Shropshire, where every cow in the herd produces only the A2 beta-casein protein.

We DNA tested the whole herd in 2012 and sold on every animal carrying the A1 gene — around half the cows at the time. Since then we've bred exclusively from A2 bulls, so every calf born here is A2 type. We supplied The a2 Milk Company until they withdrew from the UK in 2019, and have sold direct from the farm ever since.

Our milk is pasteurised, not raw. That makes us the option for anyone who wants A2 milk but would rather not drink it unpasteurised, and it means we can supply local shops as well as the farm gate.

Available in 1 litre returnable glass bottles at £1.40, plus a £1 bottle deposit. We also make strawberry, banana and chocolate milkshakes with the same milk.
