UFC Fighter Bryce Mitchell Credits Raw Milk After Submission Win at UFC Vegas 118
Bryce Mitchell, the 31-year-old bantamweight, credited raw milk with fueling his performance at UFC Fight Night 278 on June 6, 2026, after submitting Santiago Luna with an arm-triangle choke at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.
Mitchell added raw milk to his training camp ahead of the fight. A UFC on Paramount+ reporter asked him backstage whether that was the fuel behind such a dominant performance. He did not hesitate. “I think so,” he said. “I think it was mostly raw milk.”
At UFC Vegas 118 media day, Mitchell told reporters he recently drank a gallon of milk during training, joking that he and a training partner initially mistook soap suds from a detergent-soaked shirt for milk sweating out of his skin.
Mitchell has spoken publicly about raw milk on multiple occasions, including a 2024 video in which he discussed steak, milk, and FDA restrictions on small farmers, and an Instagram post in which he celebrated West Virginia’s move to legalize raw milk sales. The post-fight moment brought those views to a much wider audience.
Raw milk, chilled and bottled without further treatment or pasteurization, has attracted a growing following among athletes and consumers interested in farm-direct and minimally processed foods. Raw milk laws vary by state.
