Fresh Flow Farm, a small-scale dairy operation in Lebanon, has successfully completed the requirements to be listed by the Raw Milk Institute. Despite facing resource challenges common in the region, Elias has demonstrated exceptional commitment to producing low-risk raw milk through innovative solutions and dedication to food safety.
Key Achievements in Raw Milk Production
Elias has implemented several notable improvements to meet RAWMI’s comprehensive raw milk safety standards:
On-Farm Laboratory Development: Fresh Flow Farm built a dedicated on-farm testing facility, sourcing specialized test materials internationally from Japan to ensure accurate milk quality monitoring.
Enhanced Bottling Infrastructure: The farm constructed a temporary milk bottling room designed to protect raw milk from environmental contaminants, including dust and barn debris, during the packaging process.
Disease Testing Protocols: Elias procured Tuberculosis and Brucellosis testing materials – tests not commonly available or utilized in Lebanese dairy operations – and partnered with a local veterinarian to implement regular herd health screening.
Upgraded Production Practices: The farm has modernized both milking and bottling procedures to align with international raw milk safety protocols.
