Republican legislators are passing a farm bill through the North Carolina state senate that would remove raw milk options for consumers.
NC SB639 originally removed access to herdshares. They’ve since removed the ban on herdshares and proposed a ban on feed licensing, which is the only way for North Carolinians to purchase milk in a one-off fashion without buying into a membership.
Freedom for Farmers NC is organizing to prevent these changes to North Carolina law. Follow their work by visiting their website: www.freedomforfarmersnc.com and following their Instagram feed @freedomforfarmersnc
