Raw drinking milk may be sold directly to consumers in Wales under the same framework as England. Permitted sales channels include farm gate sales, on-farm vending machines, online direct delivery, and registered farmers markets. Sale through retail shops is prohibited.
Wales has its own devolved food hygiene legislation — the Food Hygiene (Wales) Regulations 2006 — but the practical requirements mirror those in England. Farms must register with the Food Standards Agency Wales and submit to twice-yearly inspections by the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA). Wales requires statutory health warning labels for raw milk from all farmed species, including sheep, goat, and buffalo.
