Raw milk sale is banned in Yukon under federal regulation and territorial public health law. The territory has effectively no commercial dairy sector.
Yukon reaches the same prohibition as the rest of Canada, though the question is largely academic given the near absence of commercial dairy production in the territory.
The federal prohibition in section B.08.002.2 of the Food and Drug Regulations applies in Yukon as it does nationwide. Territorially, the Public Health and Safety Act (R.S.Y. 2002, c. 176) provides for the sanitary inspection and control of food supplies including milk and milk products, and regulations governing the production and sale of milk and certain milk products have been made under territorial public health legislation since 1962.
There is no herdshare, cow-share or on-farm sales exemption. Drinking milk from one's own animals is not an offence.
Yukon has essentially no commercial dairy industry, and nearly all fluid milk sold in the territory is shipped in from British Columbia and Alberta. There is no legal source of raw drinking milk.
